ZEN ENSO PROJECT

The  incomplete circle or Zen Enso symbolizes embracing "imperfection", unity, and connection within ourselves and our community.

In recognition of mental health awareness and Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, our Zen Enso Project is joining forces with your community-based organizations.  We will feature a three-part innovative workshop series: Interactive Theater, Educational Mental Wellness, and Zen Enso Kite for the Korean and Chinese community.

For the Japanese community,  there is a free Stress Management and Resource Guide booklet.

The purpose of the Zen Enso Project is to empower underserved Chinese, Japanese, and Korean families by providing a stigma-free, educational, and fun environment through art and culture.

Join us in breaking barriers and embracing social change!

THE THREE COMMUNITY PILLARS

We at 1000 Cranes for Recovery, a peer-run organization are tired of living with fear and anxiety surrounding mental health issues. We are committed to fight cultural stigma by focusing on a cultural relevant  approach, we call the Three Community Pillars in order to: Raise Awareness, Educate, and Promote Wellness Activities Utilizing Cultural Humility.

RAISE AWARENESS

Asian Americans often carry deeply buried untold experiences of trauma and mental health conditions due to cultural stigma and shame. Sharing your story strengthens hope and resilience for all.

EDUCATE

Asian Americans often lack mental health literacy because of cultural stigma and shame. Learning from peers and providers on the available resources will enrich not only your mental health literacy but will fight cultural stigma which is an essential and critical part of recovery.

WELLNESS ACTIVITY

Meaningful wellness activities can help community members spiritually grow and strengthen our diverse and rich Asian American ethnic identities as well as help protect against illness and build resilience.

1000 Cranes For Recovery is a community partnership  collaboration to raise awareness, educate, and promote wellness to mental health advocates through arts and culture as a bridge to better serve the Asian American community.
